About you

Its likely that you will currently be working as an event designer, a creative designer, or as an interior designer but certainly within an artistic environment where you have ownership and responsibility for delivering outstanding work. You will be technically skilled in the use of smart technology and systems that enhance your design work and present your concepts and vision to the client. It is not critical that you currently come from the event management industry, once you have the skillsets required you will grow within the business.

• You will be passionate about design and bringing concepts to life, and will be a very competent and confident communicator, who has strong attention to detail, professional in your style of engagement and capable of working within a complex and fast-moving environment.

• Excellent interpersonal and project management skills. You will be liaising with colleagues, vendors and suppliers amongst others who you will be overseeing to ensure they understand what is required of them and are adhering to the brief.

• You will have proven management and administration skills, and will have gained experience of working with International teams at a senior level understanding the need for developing a respectful and diplomatic communication style and you will be skilled at stakeholder management.

• You will be very tech savvy and will contribute to the development of effective management of data for our client portfolios. Experience of virtual design software to conceptualize the event design plan which will be presented to the client and suppliers. Software such as CAD, InDesign and Photoshop will be used to create data files.

• You will be experienced at project managing various cross functional team projects and all the challenges that might be encountered while dealing with creative, administrative, financial and external stakeholders.

• You will have the ability to manage complex workloads and perform several tasks simultaneously.

• You will be driven by personal accountability, high levels of integrity, ability to work under pressure and a desire to achieve outstanding results through collaboration with colleagues. Teamwork will be essential as you will be working with the Managing Director, Events Producer and other colleagues to oversee all aspects of design and bringing these to life for a live event. Working closely with technical team lighting and stage design, as well as all parties and stakeholders involved in the production of the event.

• Creativity is vital to this role as well as knowing how to research concepts and ideas, and creating presentations for clients.

• Time management skills are key as deadlines are non-negotiable and everything must be ready to fulfill the client’s wishes for their event. Tasks need to be prioritised based on urgency and importance, logistics and delivery of items on time, to the highest quality and exact quantity.

• You will be a problem-solver and have a good grasp of risk management meaning you will have the ability to anticipate, identify and solve problems, particularly in relation to production timelines and creativity milestones and live events.

• You will have a minimum of 3-5 Years of experience in design, hold a full Driving Licence.

• Computer skills: CAD, {Adobe InDesign}, Photoshop and Microsoft packages; Excel, Word, Office.  

About the Role

As Event Designer, you will be a key player in developing and designing visual concepts for the company’s events. You will develop all aspects of the design concepts ensuring they capture the style and personality of the end client, by actively communicating with the internal team and thus creating very visual design decks.

• You will attend design meetings with the internal team, capturing the important elements of the event as well as paying close attention to the finer details that will be the difference between beautiful and exquisite. Once the concepts and designs have been artistically created into a visual presentation for the client using state of the art technology and digital tools, you will drive the event to the next stage with the internal team, by mapping out the operation plans that will make this a reality.

• Areas such as planning, collaboration, stakeholder management, warehouse and props inventory and management, logistics and location specification, pre and post event management, overseeing subcontractors and all other stakeholders in the production of the event will be important also.

• As Event Designer you will work closely with internal team and vendors to execute the events décor which includes everything from stationery for invitations to fabrics for draping and table settings, centrepieces, special effects, and lighting equipment.

• As there will be several large-scale events across a calendar year, multitasking of the various stages of the different projects and working on various projects simultaneously will be part of what you do well and are stimulated by. Having the ability to work under pressure while remaining positive and composed, will be the trademark of your success in this role.

• You will be working with like-minded individuals, who are driven by ambition, quality, attention to detail, beauty and relevance in everything that they do and create.

• While the role will require a certain level of travel, specking out venues of interest and working on live events you will need to be flexible in your work and will require a full driving licence.

• You will need to have an ability to comprehend space, light and materials needed, you will be mobile and resourceful in acquiring the props needed and ensuring the event stays within budget and milestones are met on time.
